“Bella Joins the Service is a truly heartwarming story, but what makes it even more memorable is that it’s based on a true story! This book is perfect to show kids how incredible dogs are and how much they can help those who are differently abled. I fell in love with Bella when reading this book, and you will too!”
—Laura Numeroff, New York Times best-selling author of the If You Give a Mouse a Cookie series and Raising a Hero

Children love dogs! Bella’s humor and honesty teach the reader that dogs have feelings and act on those feelings to make positive changes in difficult situations. Just like people.

The following unaltered quotes are from feedback sheets filled out by Echo Lake Elementary School students after Bella Joins the Service was read to them. They were asked the question, “What did you learn from this story?”
  • Colby, 2nd “Helping is good.”
  • Kya, 2nd “Any dog can be a helper.”
  • Allie, 3rd “If a dog can help-out so can you.”
  • Liam, 3rd “Even if your hurt, you can do the same things but in a different way.”
  • Dwayne, 4th “Dogs can really be hero’ s in the most unbelievable ways.”
  • Pixie, 4th “You should never give up.”
  • Savannah, 5th “It takes lots of work to train a dog to be a service dog.”
  • Peyton, 5th “If bad things happen you should just keep going and do stuff you love."

Lastly, a quote from Mrs. Hundley, a fourth grade teacher who was also a beta reader: “Absolutely anything is possible and with hard work and teamwork, you can overcome anything!”

Bella is on her way!
We had a wonderful pre-release book launch on Thursday Oct. 27th at the Depot in Ashland, Virginia.
I had the opportunity to celebrate the book's publication as well as thank those who helped it to come to fruition.
Without Brandylane Publishers we wouldn’t be here—thanks to them, our story has come to light.
The books will be released Dec 13th. and into lots of hands in time for the holidays. Be on the lookout for book signings in the future.
